BURNING PERMITS
Any person setting an open-air fire in the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand shall be responsible for any damage to property or injury to persons occasioned by the said open air fire, and; be liable for all costs incurred by the Fire Department of the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand, including the costs of all personnel, equipment and apparatus responding to extinguish the said open-air fire. In addition to the costs above, a fine will be levied to the person responsible up to $5,000.00 under the Provincial Offences Act, (Ontario). Any persons who is planning a controlled fire is advised to notify Bernadette Murray at the Grafton Municipal Office at 905-349-2822 (ext. 25) to supply the ap-propriate documentation as required by By- Law #95-2001.Please Contact Bernadette Murray at 905-349-2822 ext. 25 to Obtain a Free Permit.
Fire Permit Procedure Change!!!!
As of Monday, March 5th, 2012, Fire Permits may be obtained by contacting Dianne Nicholls at the Rose-neath Satellite Office at 905-352-3949 between 8:30 am & 4:30 pm Monday to Friday or by email at dnicholls@alnwickhaldimand.ca or fax 905-352- 2032.
When you call, please be ready to provide the owner's name, the contact phone number and the civic (911) address of the subject property.
Accessibility and Special Needs During an Emergency
The Alnwick/Haldimand Fire & Rescue maintains a confidential list of people who have special accessibility needs. During an emergency, responders can access the list to determine if they need to take actions to assist those people.Citizens in need of this service are encouraged to obtain a form and register with the municipality. Forms are available here, and also at the Grafton and Roseneath Municipal Administration Offices.
Tanker Shuttle Accreditation
The Fire Protection Services attended the Fire Department practice session to observe the water shuttle procedures and the Township passed the requirements for "Tanker Shuttle Accreditation".This certificate may reduce property insurance rates for the residents within the municipality and a copy of this certificate is now available in the municipal offices in Grafton and Roseneath for residents to forward to their insurance companies.

The Township of Alnwick Township has three district area Volunteer Fire Departments to provide fire protection services to the residents and visitors of the municipality. The Stations are located in Grafton, Centreton and Roseneath.
The Alnwick/Haldimand Fire and Resuce also provide Fire Protection Services to the Alderville First Nation under the provisions of a mutually signed Agreement between the Band Council of the First Nation and the Council of the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand.
Mutual Aid Services are also provided by the Volunteer Fire Departments when required. Mutual Aid Services permits Alnwick/Haldimand Fire and Rescue to provide assistance to or to obtain assistance from another participating municipality.
